Name A Tree

Name A Tree is an ongoing project that honors beloved individual women/women’s groups while providing much-needed funding for The Land. Name A Tree is somewhat like our equivalent of adding a name to a park bench. Of course, we don’t make plaques and hammer them into trees; and no one gets to actually own or keep a tree. There is a virtual tour online with a directory; each named tree has its own geocode and is easily findable on the virtual tour.

Day Visits On The Land

HOURS

The Land is open for Day Visits every day from September 1 through May 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. to all women and girls in our community. Both the front and back gates appear to be locked* to discourage trespassing. However, both can be “unlocked” by untwining the wire that runs through the chain and opening the gate. We ask that the chains be re-secured with the twisted wire immediately upon entry and again after leaving.

  • Note: both gates will be padlocked from 9:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. during the times that there are Land Hosts present. Please plan to arrive no earlier than 8:30 AM and exit The Land no later than 9:15 PM to avoid being locked in.

DRIVING

Traffic runs ONE WAY only – come in the front gate and exit out the back gate. Please stay on the roads at all times, drive 5 mph, and watch for women and children.

LEAVE NO TRACE

Please be prepared to take out everything brought in, including all trash and recycling, chairs, tarps, etc. Dumpsters will not be available for general use. Please be sure not to leave food waste behind, as it attracts critters.

SERVICE ANIMALS

Only Service Dogs are allowed on The Land. They must be on a 6-foot leash at all times. Please pick up animal waste and haul it out with you. Do not leave animals or humans locked up in a hot car.

Chewy - Welcome Home
