In memory of my loving wife and life partner. Elaine Jordan of Tucson, Arizona crossed over to the other side of her journey on October 20, 2017. The youngest of three children, Elaine graduated Valedictorian from Cambridge Central School. She continued her education obtaining two Associate Degrees from Adirondack Community College, a Bachelors from SUNY Buffalo and a Master of Science Degree from John’s Hopkins, graduating Magnum Cum Laude.
After 30 years working for McCormick Spices in Baltimore as a Process Improvement Engineer, Elaine retired and we moved to Tucson to begin the second chapter of our life. Elaine always had wanted to travel across the Unites States and created a list to keep track of the 37 states we traveled through on our relocations adventures with great joy.
Elaine had the most beautiful smile and engaging sweet personality. Elaine was a true joy with her genuine heart, sweet spirit and radiant smile. We both fell in love at first sight, which matured and continued through our 14 years together. We shared love for family, friends and fur children, as well as a life full of fun and adventure.
Elaine loved the outdoors and Appalachian Trail, was a long distance runner and a two time breast cancer survivor. Throughout our time together, she was always up for adventure and we traveled extensively in and out of the US. Of all our travels, nothing quite compared to the rich, tactile experiences we shared with our family of wymyn and girls at the Michigan Wymyn’s Festival.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a tax-deductible donation in Elaine Jordan’s name to the We Want the Land Collective (WWTLC).
WWTLC’s mission is to provide women and girls with a permanent venue to help foster and create events and experiences that celebrate women’s history; promote women’s healing and empowerment, build women’s community and encourage feminist education and growth.
